 在Windows Vista中，微软引入了BitLocker磁盘加密这个功能用于保护用户隐私文件和数据安全。在Vista SP1中，微软对此功能进行了改进，而在Windows 7中，微软更是改进版的BitLocker To Go。Enterprise和Ultimate版的Windows 7不仅支持本地硬盘加密，还支持可移动磁盘的加密。此外，微软还承诺，BitLocker To Go还会保持良好的向下兼容性，也就是说，正如我们此前介绍的，使用BitLocker To Go加密过的U盘在Vista和XP下也可以打开。

“BitLocker To Go的功能设计的初衷就是为了保护用户数据安全，也就是说，只有特定用户才能查看加密磁盘中的内容。并不需要特殊的硬件支持，而且，BitLocker To Go保持了很好的向下兼容性，用户唯一需要的是BitLocker To Go Reader。”

那么，哪里下载这个BitLocker To Go Reader呢？其实，在U盘上就已经安装了此工具。所以，直接插上就可以了，只不过在Vista和XP上，加密过的磁盘是只读的。

BitLocker grew with the addition of Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista, and Windows 7 will bring the next step in the feature's evolution under the label BitLocker To Go.
