 或许是泄露得太多频繁，或许是用户反馈过于强烈，或许是不想Windows 7背负上不好的名声，总之微软终于关注起外界有关Windows 7的各种讨论和话题了。对于用户的抱怨，微软解释如下：

“我们这些天也经常注意到有用户正在使用一些非官方发布的Windows 7版本并抱怨有关稳定性方面的一些问题，比如，Windows Live Messenger停止工作、打印机或其他设备消失以及开始菜单快捷方式失效等等。事实上这些问题都无伤大雅，最多重新安装软件或设备即可。”

此外，微软还警告用户应慎重对待泄露版本：

“此外，用户应当注意最好只安装和使用我们官方发布的版本。我们知道大家都想装上最新的版本，但谁也不知道泄露版本里有没有加入别的什么，这有一定的安全风险。RC发布时我们会提供HASH值供校验。”
