 基于Windows NT的系统都可以通过EFS文件加密系统对文件夹进行加密，其中，Windows Vista是第一个引入全盘加密的系统，也就是我们通常所说的BitLocker。而现在，在Windows 7中，微软新增了可移动设备的设备功能，比如，USB设备、闪存设备和其他媒体设备等。新功能成为BitLocker To Go。

BitLocker的历史

最初，BitLocker仅仅支持加密所有分区。在最终定名前，该功能被成为Secure Startup （安全启动）和Full Volume Encryption（全盘加密）。当时，BitLocker只能被安装在系统盘中，也很难配置，需要手动创建独立分区，而且必须在系统安装过程中创建。

后来，为了解决这些问题，微软在Vista的Ultimate Extras中提供了BitLocker增强等更新。而在Windows 7中，该功能则更加容易安装和配置。

安装和使用

右键某磁盘-打开BitLocker。

当然，也可以在控制面板-系统和安全中找到。

在弹出的向导中进行设置

在下一步中将会询问是否要保存key。可以选择另存为txt文件或者打印。如果选择了保存或打印，应该会出现这样的画面：

如果对可移动磁盘进行了加密，那么插入和拔除时都需要输入密码。

在XP和Vista中使用BitLocker加密设备

看到上面的功能，可能很多人要问了。在Windows 7中使用BitLocker加密的可移动磁盘在XP和Vista下能不能使用？答案是肯定的。在这些系统中，微软提供了阅读功能，也就是说，这些磁盘是只读的。输入密码后可以阅读里面的文件，但是无法写入任何文件。

BitLocker To Go可以说是相当出色的磁盘加密技术了。但由于微软只打算在Windows 7 Enterprise和Ultimate版本中提供此功能。
