 微软已经确认，Windows 7 RC将在两月之内发布，同时，雷德蒙软件巨头也承认，半年之内，Windows 7正式版就会和公众见面。

而最近微软商业销售部门主管Danny Beck更是在一段视频中透露了较为具体的日期：

“在几个月之内，我们就将进入所谓的RC阶段，主要是提升一下稳定性、修复少数Bug。而在接下来的半年到1年之内，如果一切就绪的话，Windows 7正式版会尽快发布并上架销售。”

也就是说，WIndows 7 RC最早4月发布，最晚5月；Windows 7正式版最早8月，最晚9月发布。
