 大约在一年前，微软Windows Vista团队在其位于雷德蒙的总部接受了多家媒体的采访。当时的Vista并未像微软预料的那样获得巨大成功，很多企业都决定跳过其直接升级到Windows 7。

采访中很多问题都集中在为何微软开发5年之久的系统还会存在如此多的问题以及为何在修复已存在的bug前就打算让企业部署Vista。当时，微软并没有对此事作出任何回答。

现在轮到Windows 7，微软似乎已经在吸取Vista的前车之鉴了。微软副主席Mike Nash称“我知道我们还需要继续努力，但我们一直想进步。”

企业用户之所以不欢迎Vista一是由于其较高的硬件需求使得企业不得不花费大笔的资金用户硬件升级，二是因为微软的软件合作伙伴并没有为Vista的发布做好准备，导致了大量第三方软件的兼容性问题。

而在WIndows 7的开发过程中，微软早早就向合作伙伴公布了Windows 7的特性以给予他们足够的时间了解新系统的功能。此外，微软而做了大量的测试和改进以确保Windows 7不会在兼容性问题上出纰漏。

而有关硬件需求方面，微软宣称Windows 7的硬件配置要求比Vista要低，而事实证明，即使是几年前的老爷机也可以流畅运行这款新系统，这也就打消了企业在硬件升级方面的顾虑。

Mike Nash还称：“我们希望用户可以将Windows 7 Beta当做Windows 7 RC来对待，将Windows 7 RC当做Windows 7 RTM来对待。”
