 曾在美国影院中大受欢迎的主题就要数救赎了，影片中，往往堕落的英雄主角们会在犯错后重新获得救赎的机会。

而对于微软而言，需要救赎的是产品，而不是人。很出人意料，Windows系统再次令人激动起来，而且这显然不是运气好。微软Windows和Windows Live团队经理Steven Sinofsky和Windows内核部门副主管Jon DeVaan在这次的Windows救赎中起到了举足轻重的作用。革命性的产品离不开好的管理。

目前的微软可以说是到了紧要关头。全球经济正在衰退，软件销售不利。微软甚至无法以未来季度的盈利给华尔街带来一丝生气。

微软不得不勒紧裤腰带过日子并推出优秀的产品。在这方面，Windows部门是个很好的例子。Windows 7 Beta可以说是获得了极大好评，也可以说是Vista涅槃后的凤凰浴火重生。而Vista和Windows 7之间的一大区别就是管理。

现在Windows 7所带来的，大概也就是2年前我希望Vista做到的。解决了Vista的问题并使Windows 7获得了新生。即使是在Beta阶段，Windows 7显然是个稳定而又激动人心的产品。这正是Vista本该做到却没有做到的。微软大概是在XP发布后六年发布Vista的。而在SP2发布后，XP已经很稳定了，因此，Vista想要超越XP需要作出极大改进。而Windows 7，正做到了这一点。
