 由于UAC的存在，微软在Vista中引入了权限功能组件Elevation PowerToys，而现在这一功能也被集成到了Windows 7 Beta中。但是，使用中发现，此组件在Windows 7中并不能正常工作。为此，Michael Murgolo，此工具的开发者对其作出了一些改进。

此bug于去年12月发现，而一直以来Michael Murgolo都在致力于寻找解决问题的方法，而如今，这一bug已经修复，可以在Windows 7下正常使用。

最初在Vista下，Elevation PowerToys主要用来为用户提供UAC下的简易操作界面，可提供一下选项：以管理员身份运行、以管理员身份运行第三方脚本工具等。虽然在Windows 7中，微软已经对UAC作出了改进，但有时候，有这样一款工具还是有备无患的。
