据俄罗斯科技网站Wzor报道，微软正在开发Windows8，微软内部甚至已经公布了一系列的Windows 8版本号.

Wzor向来以微软新闻报道见长，而且事实已经证明Wzor新闻报道的准确性。有消息称，Wzor网站与微软Windows和Windows Live部门主管史蒂芬-西诺夫斯基（Steven Sinofsky）交往甚密。

Wzor网站报道称，微软已经开发完成新版Windows 8。此前微软泄露的Windows 8版本号分别为：7702.0.100126-1751, 7703.0.100127-1845, 7704.0.100128-1900和7705.0.100129-1930。以7705.0.100129-1930为例，该版Windows 8于2010年1月29日开发完毕。

微软公司于2009年初确认，他们已经开始筹Windows 8开发计划。而现在距离Windows 7发布已近半年，微软应该已经在开发Windows 8。

上月底，Wzor公布了Build 6.1.7700.0.100122-1900版系统（包括Windows客户端和服务器）的信息和截图。关注微软的用户都知道，Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2 RTM的版本号为6.1.7600.16385。因此，Build 6.1.7700.0.100122-1900版是Windows 7 RTM的下一版本。

Windows开发团队的一位项目经理此前曾表示，西诺夫斯基正试图让Windows 8超出所有最终用户对Windows平台的期望。

当然，前提是微软最终调用Windows vNext视窗8。微软可能把Windows 8更名为“Windows vNext Windows 8”。
