 为了确保Vista（6.0）下的软硬件设备能够在Windows 7 （6.1）下正常运行，微软可谓是花了大心思了，不仅将版本号定了6.1，而不是7.0以确保内核上的兼容性，微软目前正在提供一系列资源以使得软硬件能够适用于Windows 7，其中最主要的2个就是Windows 7 Application Quality Cookbook （Windows 7软件开发质量保证书）和Windows 7 Logo项目 .

Windows 7 Application Quality Cookbook提供通过Windows 7 和Windows Server 2008 R2运行正常认证的程序。通过此Cookbook，开发者们可以将程序无缝整合进Windows 7。而对用户而言，则可以获得更大的可靠性和性能。

而同时，Windows 7 Logo Program则是用来保证设备、系统、程序等的兼容性、稳定性和性能的，有点类似与此前的“Vista Capable”。
