 微软正在努力开发Windows 7，作为Vista的进化版本，与上一代操作系统相比，Windows 7在性能上将会有明显提升。

Steven Sinofsky，微软Windows和Windows Live产品部门副总管，和Michael Fortin，微软另一位工程师一起，透露雷德蒙软件巨头正在将注意力集中在提升Windows 7性能上。在这方面，微软不能出现任何错误，因为用户对Windows 7性能的期望值已经达到一个顶峰了。

微软强调，性能观念与系统的实际性能同样重要。事实上，导致Vista惨败的一大原因就在于其比XP糟糕的性能。

In the sense in which Microsoft is building Windows 7 as the evolution of Windows Vista, the next iteration of the Windows client will perform as if on steroids, compared to its precursor.
