微软MDOP组刚刚发布了微软应用程序虚拟化软件（App-V）4.6 Beta版本，此版本更好的支持Windows 7。在物理环境中，所有应用程序都依赖于操作系统来实现各种服务，包括内存分配、设备驱动程序等等。应用程序及其操作系统之间的不兼容性可以通过服务器虚拟化或者展现层虚拟化解决；但是对于安装在同一个操作系统实例上的两个应用程序之间的不兼容性，则需要应用程序虚拟化。

App-V 4.6 Beta 可通过Microsoft Connect下载，对于目前在32位Windows 7下使用App-V 4.5 CU1的用户，不久会获得一个更新程序，届时App-V将更新至4.5 SP1，据开发组称，4.5 SP1将于90天内发布。
