尽管微软几周前就已接受Surface 2和Surface Pro 2的预定，但正式出售时间为10月22日。现在，微软宣布将会于10月21日在美国本土10家零售店举办午夜发布会。

微软新闻稿公布了将会举行午夜发布会的10家零售店的位置，确切时间为这10家店各自所在时区的10月21日晚上10点钟。这些零售店分别是：

• Bellevue Square Mall - Bellevue, Washington

• Westfield San Francisco Centre - San Francisco, California

• Scottsdale Fashion Square - Scottsdale, Arizona

• Dadeland Mall - Miami, Florida

• Lennox Square Mall - Atlanta, Georgia

• The Shops at Prudential Center - Boston, Massachusetts

• The Westchester - White Plains, New, York

• The Domain - Austin, Texas

• The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City - Arlington, Virginia

• Oakbrook Center Mall - Oakbrook, Illinois

微软还表示住在以上零售店附近并想参加发布会的人们需要在Microsoft Store的官方Facebook上提前注册。

当新Surface平板电脑10月22日午夜正式出售前，发布会现场会分发许多赠品。微软甚至提供一次机会，让幸运儿去参观每个举办发布会的零售店。
