Windows 7 RC Build 7100发布时起，微软下一代操作系统的开发就已经进入向RTM进军的过程中了。同时，微软也已经开始着手准备Windows Vista - Windows 7的“技术保障计划”，也就是我们熟悉的“Windows 7升级计划”了。

之前发布Vista前微软曾提供过相似的服务，而如今微软正在打算从2009年6月29日起故技重施。到目前为此，微软依然没有披露有关此计划的任 何细节。但TechArp网站已经披露此计划将从下月底开始。而Acer在澳大利亚开播的广告也证实了这一点，在广告中，Acer称

“从6月26日开始，每个购买预装Vista的Acer电脑的用户都将在Windows 7发布后获取相应的Windows 7一套。”
