 设备和打印机是Windows 7中的基本组件，也就是Vista中设备管理器的加强版。当连接XBOX或打印机时，设备和打印机会提供个性化，易于使用的用户界面。

当用户创建设备的快捷方式时，用户可以轻松获取设备进程和状态。每当用户插入移动设备时，Windows 7可以准确识别出设备名称，甚至还有设备图片，而不会只显示“某手机”，“未知打印机”等。

如果是存储卡，用户可以导出图片、视频、声音和其他文件到任何地方。如果是照相机，Windows 7可以提供打印，发送，导出和上传等功能。如果是手机，Windows 7可以完成发送/接受短信，备份和同步等功能。（Nokia PC套件也不过如此吧。）
